asked questions...

You may find the answers to some of your questions here – have a read and please reach out in case you can’t find the answer to your question below.

Q

Are we a good fit to work together?

A

We are a good fit as long as:

  • You are ready to make an investment
  • You are responsive and communicative
  • You are familiar with my work
  • You like my work and my aesthetic
  • You have a realistic timeline for your project

Q

What is the Moodboard/ Inspiration board for?

A

I use mood boards for all my creative projects because they are a way for me to communicate my ideas. They help us both to align our ideas and make for an easier and smoother foundation for our collaboration.

Q

How long in advance should I book a photo shoot?

A

If you have a specific date or a special occasion, get in touch as soon as possible to check my availability. Last minute shoots are subject to availability. Most shoots are between 1-2 hours so that usually leaves enough room for flexibility in my schedule.

Q

How long in advance should I schedule my graphic design project?

A

All my work is created custom for my clients. It’s best to allow between 2-4 weeks from scheduling to completion (depending on project scope). Project advancement is dependent on client responsiveness. Get in touch directly to find out my current availability.

Q

How long does it take to process photos from our shoot together?

A

Within 14 days after the shoot, you will receive a link to a private online gallery where you can flag your favourite images from the shoot to be professionally retouched.
Retouching and photo editing turn around time is about 10-14 days after you submit your final selection (dependent on volume).

Q

How will I receive my final edited photographs?

A

All photographs are provided in digital format, post processed and are of high resolution. I also provide the same photographs optimised for social media sharing. If needed I can provide the photos to fit a certain crop dimension or frame, please let me know when you submit your final selection.

Q

we are in the tropics...so what happens if it's raining for my outdoor shoot?

A

At the time of booking your outdoor shoot, I usually specify to allow a bit of flexibility in your schedule in case we get a bad bout of weather and heavy rain – and you were hoping for sunshine. We can reschedule your shoot to the following day (at my discretion) or can also shoot on the same day in the studio if you would prefer.

Q

How can I book a shoot with you?

A

Get in touch as soon as possible to schedule a date and time with me. All location shoots are weather dependent so please allow flexibility in your calendar to reschedule to the following day if need be. A prompt 50% payment is required to confirm and to book your shoot. The remaining balance is due on the day of the shoot.

Q

how long should my shoot be?

A

This only applies to location shoots – the time of day affects the quality of the light. The longer the shoot time – the greater chance in obtaining ambient light variations. For example as the sun gets lower in the sky and as it moves through the clouds. These are all factors which can contribute to the overall look and feel of the photographs and can aid in creating more dynamic lighting and variety. I will let you know the best time to plan your shoot depending on your desired outcome.

Please keep in mind the longer the shoot duration the more time it gives us to create slowly, be present and obtain a good variety in the final images. It also allows time for us to get to know one another, for you to feel comfortable and in turn will produce better images. Mini Shoots are also available for those only wanting a few shots in a beautiful setting.

Q

studio shoot or location shoot, which one is best?

A

In the studio you will experience a private air conditioned setting. Current options for backdrops are white, white marble and smokey grey, but anything is possible with a little planning. The beauty of a studio shoot is we get to be creative and incorporate props or take a more traditional approach all within a private, comfortable air conditioned and controlled environment. I highly recommend for those who are a little camera shy.

On location – The Puerto Viejo area with its stunning tropical landscape makes for a great natural backdrop for your photo shoot. Location options are; beaches, waterfalls, rivers, jungle paths, gardens. An afternoon beach shoot at golden hour or an early morning sunrise shoot in the jungle or at the beach are my absolute favourite times of day for photo shoots.
